The meaning of Nasi Goreng is fried rice and udang kering is dried shrimp in English words. Collectively is known as dried shrimp fried rice.
In this recipe, I am going to give two version of sautéing ingredients for Nasi Goreng Udang Kering.
Both version is easy to made and yield the same result.
Version 1
Ingredients
- 2 red onion
- 1 garlic
- 2 tablespoon cooking oil
- 2 teaspoon of dried shrimp (soaked for 30 minutes)
- 1 plate rice
- 1 cup mix vegetable
- pinch of salt
Instructions
- Pound the red onion and garlic using mortar and pestle until you get a rough paste.
- In a wok, pour the cooking oil and heat it up for 15 seconds.
- Then, put in the dried shrimp that has been soaked into the wok. Stir-fry the dried shrimp for 1 minute.
- Afterwards, add rice into the wok. Mix it well for five minutes.
- Add in mix vegetable and salt. Cook for another five minutes.
- Nasi Goreng Udang Kering is ready.

Version 2
This is version using Spicy Chilli Oil.
Ingredients
- 2 tablespoon Spicy Chilli Oil
- 2 tablespoon dried shrimp (soaked for 30 minutes)
- 1 cup mix vegetable
- 1 plate rice
- Pinch of salt
Instructions
- Preheat Spicy Chilli Oil and add soaked dried shrimp. into the wok.
- Add rice and mix evenly for 3 minutes. Make sure the rice and dried shrimp mix well.
- Then add mix vegetable and salt. Cook for five minutes.
- Nasi Goreng Udang Kering is ready.
